AFAIK homeless people don't get gubmint benefits (I guess free ER visits and free jail food counts... but you seem to be hinting at welfare)

Big cities have greater wealth, homeless shelters, and readily available drugs.

You could try your hardest to make this a partisan issue but you can bet that the homeless congregate in big cities in 3rd world countries that lack Obamaphones

Are you sure about that?

S.F. spends record $241 million on homeless, can’t track results

Visitors may wonder why one of the wealthiest cities in the world can’t cough up enough money to alleviate homelessness, but, in fact, San Francisco spends tremendous amounts of money on the problem. The city is allocating a record $241 million this fiscal year on homeless services, $84 million more than when Mayor Ed Lee took office in January 2011.

S.F. spends record $241 million on homeless, can
A quarter of a billion dollars, and that number will increase in the near future I'm sure.

I'm not trying to make this a partisan issue, just presenting the facts that it is a partisan issue.

Unless of course you know of all the conservative counties spending 1/4 of a billion dollars on homeless, or housing 12% of the homeless population in commercial hotels...

The counties Trump carried account for a measly 36% of America's GDP (Clinton counties: 64%). Trump counties are generally rural and threadbare with amenities.

In short: right-leaning counties don't have a pot to **** in AND they're loaded with some of the most heartless people around (conservatives). It's no surprise that big urban centers like Los Angeles and NYC draw more homeless than podunk Kansas and South Dakota.

There's nothing generous or altruistic about using the government's guns to forcibly redistribute wealth from one group of people to another group of people.

Well, Frisco is a crazy place, so I'll assume they're just being overly generous but not everywhere in America is like that. Florida is a red state (just barely but the Republicans are usually in charge of the state) and Miami which is more liberal than the rest of the state, actually had a worse homeless problem when we weren't doing anything about it. Downtown 15 years ago was terrifying, zombies everywhere. Or homeless population has been cut down considerably.

We weren't giving them handouts and yet they were here.

Democracy in action. If you don't like it, vote to cut redistribution programs and if it doesn't work out, then that means you're in the minority. Move to another state. Places like California didn't become so generous because the Federal Government is forcing them too and places like Mississippi didn't become so stingy because the citizens didn't want it that way.

San Francisco isn't alone. You can throw New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and another half dozen cities onto that list as well.

Also, Miami's homeless population is increasing:
Homeless census confirms downtown

Overnight?

So Obama, and Clinton who held office for 16 years combined (TWICE as long as Reagan) weren't able to stop the economy from "tanking"?

I never claimed California was my state of residence.

Also, I agree that it's "democracy" in action, doesn't mean it's not state sponsored theft. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner.
