What's your point, Vega?

Last year, 85 people experiencing homelessness in the city were murdered, the highest number ever recorded, according to Los Angeles Police Department data. Crosstown reported that number represented a 47% increase from 58 unhoused victims the previous year, and a 102% spike over the 42 victims in 2019.

Recent killings in Los Angeles and New York spark anger, raise risk for homeless people:

And we wonder why homelessness continues to increase.

"The 38-year-old complex on a busy stretch of North Broadway is a far cry from the gleaming luxury towers that have gone up across the neighborhood since the turn of the century. Yet its owners see it as a potential moneymaker.

They hope to sell the federally subsidized housing complex for about $108 million, a high valuation for the area based in part on a massive rent increase that would need to first be approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

....advocates are urging HUD to block the proposed sale and deny a request by its would-be buyer, a nonprofit called Lutheran Gardens Corp., to raise rents to $2,700 per month, a hike of more than 146%. That increase would be paid by HUD — and therefore by taxpayers — not by residents, who pay only a third of their income for housing under the federal Section 8 program.

There’s nothing wrong with making a profit. But the concern is that allowing the sale of Cathay Manor on the proposed terms would reward its current owners for accepting federal funds for low-income housing while neglecting the property and its residents."

Feds urged to reject plan to sell troubled Chinatown building for low-income seniors:

The criminal complaint states that David DePape lived in a garage in the backyard of a home in Richmond.

As if being homeless is what caused this person to break into Pelosi's home and attack him.

The Homeless Population in California needs Adequate Shelter, cause if we continue turning a blind eye to this,we will end up like Skid Row throughout this beautiful state, and it will also encourage other states to send their homeless here.

Homeless Encampments also can be dangerous, because people who live in these encampments could have Mental Issues,Drug/Alcohol Addictions and also Rapes can occur as well, and it's also unsanitary because we all know they will need to use the bathroom somewhere.
So what's your solution to the homeless problem? I like to hear it, we've got homeless here too in NYC. After all CA has one of the highest taxes in 50 states should be able to address these problems with the vast resources and land. NYC doesn't have land.

A homeless guy in downtown LA walked into a Target store and grabbed a 9" knife, stabbed a 9 year old boy and someone else and tried to stab the security guard.
