hi all,

i am moving to LA from orangevale, near sacramento. my husband's office is between santa monica and beverly hills, close to san diego freeway. i want to know what will be a good locality to rent an apartment. i am looking for the following things-
1 bedroom apartment with rent abt $1000-1200
commutation time abt 30 mins
bigger indian community in the apartments
less crime rates

i hope i am able to find a good place !!!!

maybe the palms neighborhood, around the intersection of overland ave and venice blvd.

The best locale would be Brentwood but it's out of your budget. Culver City might work. There are some Indian shops on Pico between La Cienega and Fairfax. That area is about 15 - 20 min from Beverly Hills and the area you've described. Try craigslist: los angeles classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events to help you find an apartment.

hi all,

i am looking for many apartments on craigslist, but i am not sure abt how safe these localities are. can someone tell me abt the safety in following areas-
culver city, palms, sherman oaks,santa monica. also can i find many indians in these areas???

im not sure how many indians live in those communities, but each place you mentioned is a nice neighborhood. However, Sherman Oaks is the farthest from where your husband's office is located. i doubt that you'll be able to keep the commute under 30 minutes from there considering how bad traffic is in LA.
