is it true that many normal families are heading for the exit with life in the LA area because of the high housing costs? Is it true that LA is more secular than other parts of the country.I am a prosperity minister teaching the love and empowerment of jesus christ.I have been offered the chance of a new startup church in Miami Florida or Los Angeles,Ca Now I am graduating from law school soon so I can expect to do pretty well financially but I am concerned about what I read on these boards. How much does a person have to make to afford a good lifestyle in LA or Orange County in a descent area with little to no crime, good schools, etc.

Yes, many middle class people are leaving. The days of buying a house in a safe neighborhood and supporting a family are gone unless you earn $150k/yr or more. I'd say SoCal is pretty secular but its so big, there's tons of people of all stripes here. You'd probably do best in whiter, more conservative areas like south Orange County.

Not true at all. Most of the families I know are NORMAL and are staying right here in LA.

How do YOU define "Normal Families"?

LA could use you reverend. If your a man of God then your welcome to come out here and try and save some souls.I got to warn you though this state is full of bible bashing, immoral lifestyle living, aids infested, law hating varments.I am suprised God has not hit San Francisco with a meteor just like he fried Sodom. Now LA is a big mix of people lots of poor rich and in between. The bible predicts judgement for those who do not turn from their ways and we have a whole lot of fault lines under our city.ITs my belief that God has spared us from a major quake because of the good God fearing people in Southern California.
