Anybody have info on motorcade route through Pico Rivera May 20? The official record was planned to go down Passons Blvd. I remember the motorcade passing by my apartment, but on google maps now, I don’t see an apartment in that area. I went to Rivera elementary, so it would have been close to that. Did it go down Rosemead instead?

Kennedy apparently came through Pico Rivera that afternoon.

On May 20, 1968, Kennedy and his entourage left the Ambassador Hotel, where they were staying, and headed east for campaign stops in Alphy’s in Alhambra, the San Gabriel Mission and Duarte’s City of Hope, where he talked to a pediatric patient. About noon, his two motorcade — two convertibles, two motorcycle officers and two busloads of journalists — got off the 10 Freeway at Garey Avenue, headed south and turned left onto East Second Street.

“A crowd of 3,500 greeted the presidential hopeful in a frenzied appearance on the Pomona Mall,” the Progress-Bulletin reported of the pedestrian shopping district. They were three to 10 deep on both sides of Garey, the Claremont Courier wrote.

Kennedy stood in his slowly moving convertible, an aide holding him around the waist to keep him from being pulled out...

(later) ... His day was far from over: He returned by plane to Long Beach, then his motorcade drove through various suburbs, including Monterey Park, where young reporter Joe Blackstock, now our history columnist, took the tired candidate’s photo, showing Kennedy’s car surrounded by people.

Default Thanks

I’ve seen most of the “official” itinerary. What I’m looking for is someone who lived nearby to verify the actual street. The itinerary says they went down Passons Blvd. I don’t see an apartment building where I lived on google maps on Parsons. I heard one was torn down a while ago. Trying to verify the route and the apartment location.
