So I'm a 22 (going to be 23) moving in Jan, going to be graduated by then (bachelors)

I'm going to try to get a job at Universal music, not knowing which location (could be Universal City, Santa Monica, who knows)

I'm looking for just a room in an apartment or house with others....trying to stay within the 700-800 range (or less lol)

My cousin lives in Canoga park (woodland hills) and I like the area, but then someone else said that people in the valley get made fun of? lol.....

so far I've seen reasonable prices for Woodland Hills, Redondo Beach (even though I like more the city life), Harbor city?? no idea...

Any areas that are good to live in for a young (single professional)....besides westwood area since its kind of pricey!

Thanks much!

i wouldn't make your decision on where to live until you find out where you will be working. also, both UMG locations are in pretty expensive areas to live. howver, you may be able to find studio apartments in your price range within a reasonable commuting distiance. you should probably stay with your cousin until you find out where exactly you will be working. and people aren't going to make fun of you for living in the valley. in fact, many out of towners who move to LA to "make it" in the entertainment industry start out living in the valley.

Just stay South of Oxnard. The closer you get to Ventura Blvd., the better it gets.

The OP needs to stay in the "700-800 range". That's per month. In Studio City, that would be the weekly rate
