Pasadena average in the summer is around 90 or so. We have stretches where it stays around 100 for a week or so then returns to the normal 90 or so.

that is about what I would say. yes, there are days above 100, maybe every year or two, heat wave that will keep the temps up, but not many.

You might try renting in Oakwood Village in Burbank when you first move here. They rent furnished apartments out by the month. (A lot of young actors and entertainment people live there.) That's the apartment complex Jay Leno usually goes "Jaywalking" through when he does his bit about knocking on apartment doors.

If you stayed there for a month or two, you might be able to see the various different areas and determine where you would like to live most.

There are a few other places that rent short term "month to month" in Burbank (they cater to people in the entertainment biz who are only in town for a short time) but I can't think of the rest of their names.
