yes, but they are only a few miles apart. USC is by far more prestigious though, especially if you'll plan on looking for jobs in LA after you graduate.

Hardly. Perhaps you're thinking of Loyola Marymount? Loyola Law School is in a completely different area, right off of Olympic just west of Downtown, near Olympic and Alvarado. OK, it's near Staples Center, but big deal. It's still in a fairly run-down neighborhood which not too long ago was awash in lots of street crime, though it's been cleaned up a bit in recent years. Frankly, both schools are in crappy areas. You don't have to live in these neighborhoods to attend these schools, you know.

Let me put it this way. I am comfortable walking around downtown and hoods at its edge at any hour. Granted, need to be on the lookout, just like any urban place. But still, overall, these days, downtown is OK in my book. The same simply cannot be said about the South Central hood. Full stop.

How about Glendale School of Law? I know it's a CBA accredited law school. Is that a good school and does it make a difference whether is is ABA vs CBA in CA?

As far as neighborhoods, the area immediately around USC is OK. Going south from there, not so good.

As far as quality, if you want a law degree from the Los Angeles area, top tier is USC and UCLA. Second tier is Pepperdine and Loyola Law. Anything else will really limit your career choices.

USC has a far better network and (as BrinSM said) if you intend to practice in LA, USC is the place to go. UCLA is a very fine law school but without the network.
