It was on Del Mar Ave. just east of Lake. I walked by the other day and it had a sign saying it's permanently closed. I found an article saying the one in Temecula closed a few weeks ago. Perhaps the whole chain is dying.

I always liked the place although it's pricier than Tommy's. They also had simple breakfasts that were good.

There was a pizza place next to the Trader Joe's, near the front entrance. Totally disappeared.

i don't think the burbank location will ever close, it's an LA institution. having said that, when i was a kid, bob's big boy restaurants were much more common, the whole chain has been shrinking for decades.

that's a shame... I think they should've re-invented themselves into some kind of fast casual restaurant.

There is a bobs big boy in calimesa & i really like the original burger with fries & a salad. I had a chance last week to go their with a ex relative but i have dial up & he couldnt get a hold of me via telephone. He was even going to buy. Oh well...thats the story of my life. Bobs does sometimes have a coupon on line that is buy one meal & get one free. Thats a great deal.

I was Bob's Big Boy for Halloween when I was 3. If I had a pic nearby, I'd post it.

But yeah, their slow decay is disheartening.

Very sad. (Do you think In 'n Out had anything to do with it? How do you compete against that?) History | Big Boy Restaurants

InNOut, plus the economy. Very sad for sure. The one in Sun Valley is still opened though as is the Northridge location.

They vanished from the midwest when I was just a kid and I'm 59 now! Did McDuck's steal Big Boy's double decker and rechristen it the 'Big Mac'?

The BBB I used to frequent in Lag Hills closed long ago. The Colton BBB closed last year, but it sucked. Norco's the closest one to me now.
