We live near Portsmouth, NH and are considering a move to Blue Hill, in part because we have family in the Hancock area. I telecommute for work and can live anywhere, and my husband is a stay home dad to our 4 and 1 year olds.

We're drawn to a seaside town with a bit of a slower pace. And one that has everything we're attracted to right there. Namely, the co-op, a good grocery, a waldorf school for preschool age, great local elementary and high school, a couple of restaurants offering real local/organic choices, access to more in Ellsworth, farmers' markets, wonderful looking library, etc. My impressions are all based on researching the Internet, Would you agree that this is a good place to raise a family?

We're also planning to drive up for a visit soon. We'd be looking to build a home and would like to take a look at some of the areas where land is currently available. Anywhere in general you'd recommend to take a look around while we're there?

Thank you!

You will need to put some Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers on your cars.

We're just funnin' with ya! Part of that meanie stuff is based on a comment from another thread and not relevant to you.
I'll correct my entries.
From how you described yourselves and what you're looking for in a town, I think Blue Hill would be a very good fit for you and your family.
