I hadn't heard of this show but maybe if we get "dish network" it would be on that. Haven't had cable for years and never have had a dish. Getting very tired of the limited things on the networks so may be getting a dish soon.
i'll DVR it. thanks. So far I've avoided the copycats of American Pickers and Pawn Stars,
two shows I still watch, but I'll check out this one. AP never seems to get into New England.
Also in Maine, Animal Planet has a show with some of our game wardens airing in January. They've finished the first three shows and were working on a fourth two weeks ago. I don't know the air date yet.
I used to watch Pickers and Pawn Stars but it just seemed to me that they were just ripping people off to make a buck AND getting paid to do it! No offense to all that watch them....its just me. I still like Rick and Chumly tho.......just don't watch em thats all.
This is a little OT, but the non-reality show "Once Upon a Time" on ABC is set in "Storybrooke", Maine. (Filmed in Vancouver.) The setting obviously looks very little like anywhere in Maine, but it is interesting to see what kind of "bumpkin" residents Hollywood writers are creating to be inhabitants of Maine. The show isn't good at all so it's probably only worth watching for 5 minutes and tsk-tsking at the bad stereotypes.
Oh, and I was watching an HGTV show on remodeling Cape Cod cottages this week, and they began the episode with video clips of Nubble Light and Ogunquit! I was pretty shocked that a major channel tried to pass off ME as MA. Southern ME and Cape Cod have completely different vibes/scenery, imo.
I remember when I used to watch "Murder She Wrote" and they tried to pass of the California coast as Maine - It was so funny and didn't fool anyone that lives in New England. They tried to make them use a downeast accent too which came off sounding like the south.
I watch Born Dealers occasionally...I think it is better than American Pickers. The 2 guys on AP are extremely annoying and are down right crooks. They are actively seeking out people and going to their homes and ripping them off. At least on Pawn Stars, the people are going to the Shop and should expect to take a hit financially. Many of the people that the Pickers buy from they take full advantage of.
I have yet to see something on Born Dealers that angers me to the point that I stop watching like I saw on the single episode of American Pickers that I watched. I will say though, that I have only caught an episode or two of Born Dealers.
Planet Green has had some pretty good shows/specials but we don't get the channel and my cable bill is already way too pricey to even call and ask what upgrade we'd need.
