Got to get off here. The service just called to schedule a house showing today at noon! That will be the second one this week, now that we have a new realtor. She's only been on the job officially since last Friday and two showings already. Woohoo!!!

Gotta go mop!!

Our real estate is so bad I am starting to worry!! Our house has only been on over a week and they already want us to drop our price and no one has called. Investors are dumping houses and it's affecting us all. We will have to head to Maine with less in our pocket but I am just hoping we can get out of here!

Yeah, we're going to end up with less than we hoped in the bank, but you know, I don't even care as long we have enough to move and get settled. We've lived to this day without a huge nestegg, so why should we fret it? I told DH last night that we may not be much better off than we are now, but we won't be any worse! Plus, we'll be in the same place financially but in a happier environment!! What's to lose?

The showing will be any time now, so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Well the showing is done. The realtor who showed it said "They loved it." I guess we'll see how much....she's supposed to get back with our realtor.

Does anyone need a job in Bangor?

Where my DW works they are hiring, but nobody applies for the jobs. It is Federal. They are in the throws of doing a big re-organization, so folks are a bit cranky about their current positions. But they have had these open positions since even before the re-org came along.

The openings are for beginning positions as a cashier. Everyone there is working 24 hours per week. [well okay not everyone, Bonnie is still holding her 32 hour position, but all positions there from now on for all new hires are all 24 hour positions].

Once trained as a cashier then the employees will rotate to stocking, or produce, or warehouse, or cash-cage, and according to this Re-Org under this new thing, once you had met some level of proficiency at one job, then you can step up into the next higher position. Previously going up involved chicken bones and the phases of the moon, but now it is supposed to be better.

There are also other jobs, 'Vendor stockers'. These are independent contractors who work their own hours, paid per case of stuff you put on the shelf. Right now the grocery employees not able to get all this junk stocked onto the shelves every night.

The big thing with Federal employment, is that once you are 'in', it is really a HUGE system worldwide with openings in every field. Lots of times they will train you and certify you for the next position that you are focusing to leaping into. Right now this one agency is not into making employees fulltime, but that is unusual.
