Hi - this is my first time posting and I love the frugal ideas that you from Maine are offering. I noticed a discussion about socks and was wondering if anyone knows where you can buy "thin" wool socks. I find wool is the only fiber that keeps my feet warm from Oct. to April but most wool or combo wool is of the heavy variety - such as those you wear under boots. I have plenty of heavy ones but would love to find a thin variety - even if it were only 40 of 60% wool. I have checked some on line but don't seem to find much.

L.L. Beans- online or in stores. If in stores, check the hunting section.

Google "wool dress socks" if your feet are large enough to wear a small mens size... also "wool liner socks" which are designed to go under heavier socks for backpacker types...

I have worn those quite often... found them at (shhh... ) REI.
