Actually it will help both groups.I know many retirees that supplement their retirement with part time work.As for the "recently "unemployed" as you say maybe can only find part time work and will be making better money.Reguardless there will be more money for those who are making it to spend or save.

No,that is not what happened. It was what Nexxlinx management projects will happen. That is being proactive and not waiting until the SHTF. The effect is still the same- 100 employees laid off.

So you think that people laidoff from low paying full time jobs will be making "better money" with part time jobs? There will be fewer people in the workforce for reasons outlined above and more expensive products to spend the money on due to increases in labor costs passed on to the consumer. Sounds like a win-win to me.

As Nancy Pelosi has been oft quoted as saying, "when people are unemployed that means even more people are being employed".

What sort of "hassle" would that be? The chief corporate communicatrions officer states that the biggest reasons for the layoffs are that they were unable to hire enough employees to fill their current facility and that the minimum wage is going up making it even harder to compete for local labor.
