[quote=ang.a.watson;9380146]You truly don't want hot and humid. We were in Chattanooga yesterday temp of 96 and humidity seemed like 100 was only 85%. The humidity is so stifling it takes your breath.[/QUO

Absolutely! Those few excessively warm & humid days that Maine gets are a breeze compared to what happens here in the midwest. I had no idea that WI would be so bad given the close proximity to the Great Lakes. Unfortunately while the freezing winds come off both Superior & Michigan in the dead of Winter (when we don't want them), they disappear in the Summer (when we need it desperately!).

My entire life in Maine, I was always happiest in cool, rainy summers. I don't do heat well at all.

The lake is up about 6 inches this morning. If the rain ever stops I'll go check the rain gauge on the end of the dock.

It's June 19th as I write this and this is by far the longest we have run the heat into the spring of any year I can remember since we moved into this house 22 years ago.I have not been able to paint anything out doors yet as we have not had more than two days of sun here in the last month. My nice dry firewood is going to have to dry out all over again from sitting in all of this rain!My apples are going to suffer as I can't keep spray on them long enough to kill the bugs before another round of rain soaks us.
We are still very much in a winter weather pattern. I hope it changes soon!Global warming my foot!
I am in Southern CT and it has done nothing but RAIN here for weeks and weeks. The sun came out for a few hours this morning and again it is now overcast. Everyone here is depressed, my flowers did not come up as they normally do, I have a gorgeous white flowering tree outside my window that has barely any flowers on it this year, we have had our pool opened since June 2nd and have not so much as stepped a toe in it yet and it is almost the end of June. WHAT IS GOING ON!! The farmers down here depend hugely on the apple tree crops, as well as other fruit trees and of course they do plant corn and other veggies as well. Those can't be surviving well in this.

I had heard that Northern Maine was having some nice weather...NO??? My friends from Maine on Facebook keep saying how wonderfully warm and sunny it is up in Aroostook County. What part of Maine are you in?

Let's all ask the Rain Gods to do us a favor and shut off the water works for a while so we can all have some kind of summer...ya think?

Aroostook has indeed had better weather this spring and the trout fishing is awesome. I'm just barely below Aroostook near Wytopitlock, Molunkus, Mattawamkeag and Mattagodus. MSINA is now a neighbor and she is just up the road from "the Goodus".

Same way in central Vermont...rain, rain, rain...it looks like a nice day then, clouds, rain....if I were counting on my garden this year for my survival I'd be in trouble, it's messing everything up...

We're going into global cooling I suspect and it isn't caused by burning oil. It's because of the sun...

In many ways; when we look at life [whether it be medicines or farming or the weather or our Creator] I think that we all are looking at things through a smoked glass.

mini ice age is a cool story.. saw a special on it but I think it was longer then 85 years.. They showed it was responsible for migration, the potatoe famine, and the awesome sound produced by a stratovarius violin which was made from the dense wood of trees that grew during thos mini ice age.

But I'll tell ya, I don't care what anybody says... this weather is for the ducks..I'll take sunny hot and humid ANYDAY over this... I am done counting on my fingers how many clear sunny and warm days we get in a year!

You, my friend, are 100 percent correct. The accuracy of the Old Farmers Almanac (which is around 85%) is based on sunspot activity. Global warming is a farce and we are fools to base legislation on the merits of it's supporters.

AccuWeather’s Joe Bastardi: “the ’science is in’ crowd does not want them to see facts” and parts of US to have “year without a summer” « Watts Up With That?

We also have been having much cooler than normal temps out here in So. California, In my case it just means we are having great weather. We should be having temps in the 80's and 90's but instead we have had 60's and 70's for most of the month.
