If I ever have another "skunk issue" I'll know who to call for the job! Honestly though, the poor lil skunk was so terrified I felt bad for him. He was quite happy to get back outside.

Don't forget the rabies aspect of these critters. I have a friend who is going through the series of painful rabies shots right now from an encounter with a raccoon behind his house. The raccoon bit him and was later destroyed. His doctor wisely started the rabies shots even before the positive rabies report came back from the State. He says the shots are every bit as painful as reported. Don't corner a critter and arm yourself before checking on those chickens at night!

Thanks Cuz,... I was pretty careful. We blocked off the kitchen with a sheet of partical board, shut the bedroom doors and opened the back door wide. Then I opened the cellar door wide and gave him a gentle nudge with the swiffer from behind the partical board. He followed a trail of canned chicken meat right out the door and after a gentle spray from the hose he ambled off into the woods. We found and fixed the spot he got in by.
It was nice of NMLM to answer the phone, I didn't realize he was away at the time.

I've tried everything to get the smell of skunk off the dogs, but I never tried Listerine. I've even soaked them down with fabric refresher.
Hope you had fun in Virginia, NMLM. We're enjoying the new house. Let us know when you're up this way again.
