I'm going to take a bath with Epsom salts and a Lush bath bomb and pretend it is spring outside.

I'm grateful to have power now, last year the power was out for 3 days. In North Carolina, thousands are without power and 5 people have died.

Was snow but turned to rain here on the coast. Roads are clear. Windy though! I was kind of hoping for a lot of snow as I'm one who says if it's going to snow, might as well be big, but as usual we just get cold, miserable rain.

Woke up to the sight of the first snow plow on our road and full power in the house, for now anyway. Just saw on the news only 350 homes without power according to BG&E. But the snow is getting heavier and that may change.

Our dogs love the snow but they have no idea what is waiting for them outside today.

I slept in and just got up. I'm disoriented.

Youngest son got in at 3 after plowing for several hours, haven't talked to him yet, The furthest outside I've been is the back porch. Still a'snowin' and a'blowin'.

Got up this morning and eventualy got out of bed after watching the beginning of TODAY. Had to figure out how to shovel a spot outside the back door before I let our sheltie outside. Problem was I could barely push the storm door open a couple inches into the solid 18-20 inch blanket of snow! Eventualy was able to get it open enough to work the small snow shovel out. Then I had to clear a path to the grass for her. Then I just about had to push her outside. She is 13 years old and rather set in her ways. She doesn't like the white stuff when it gets above her belly. We used to have a sheltie/collie mix that was larger. He would break a trail for her. We had to put him down last winter and this is the first real storm she hasn't had him around and I don't think she knows how to handle deep snow without him.
