Looking at the MARC map , is it worth even looking at Perryville, Aberdeen, Edgewood, Have de Grace, Bel air ?

No one really talks about these areas for some reason
It’s a long ride, but the trains are fast and fairly comfortable. The commute from the northeast part of Maryland is tolerable on the train. Do not under any circumstances try it by car. Just don’t.

Havre de Grace is probably the nicest town on your list. It’s small and compact with a mostly older housing stock, but it’s on the water. Bel Air is a pleasant suburban area; probably your best choice overall, all things considered. Perryville is OK but there’s not much there. Aberdeen has a few decent areas, a few rather bad areas, and mostly just meh. Stay away from Edgewood.

Long and slow. You could drive up Route 4 to St. Leonard and take the commuter bus to DC. Or you could drive across the Solomons Bridge over to California (a suburban town, not the state on the West Coast) and take a different commuter bus into DC. (That bridge scares me to drive over it, and I love bridges. It’s narrow, steep, and curvy. Best to avoid it if possible.) Taking the bus is far less stressful than driving, but either way, commuting from Solomons is going to be painful. Besides that, it’s mostly a summer weekend getaway kind of place. I don’t think living there full time would give you any advantages.

For a lot of commuters, Union Station is not the final destination. They have to transfer to Metro, which adds more time to the commute. I knew a guy who took the train from Richmond, VA to Union Station during the work week. Rather than transfer to Metro to get to Federal Triangle, this guy would lock his bike at Union Station and ride it to his office. I'm sure he shaved a lot of time off his city commute. Otoh, if the weather was bad, he took Metro.

Agree...and the OP will be bored to death quickly.

Solomons isn't bad but it's not that big either. And I highly doubt the OP will find that "bar scene" down that way.

No one really talks about that area b/c it's a long train ride and quite far from DC? From that area it takes just as long to get to DC as getting to Philadelphia.

Most people that lives in Harford Co works in Baltimore area or APG...
