Yes, it's a great place. We used to go there a lot & have a picnic when th e kids were little. The walk through isn't that bad though I think a small dog may have some problems.

Thanks!
He's 35 pounds of pure muscle. I'm really wondering if he's going to bring me down on rocks and kill me!
But good to know that it's great and there are areas for a picnic. I read on their website that it's always pretty cool there because of the coverage, so I'm sure it's much too cold to go now. I'm looking forward to springtime already!
I imagine that it's too late in the year (too cold!) to go, but I just found about it.
The interesting thing about the Chasm is that it is cold, even in the summer. When I was a kid we went there in late June, and there were still patches of ice in the walls. I believe the paths were narrow, and a big dog might have trouble, but a medium-sized agile dog would be OK.

No! And that's pretty close by, right?
We just moved here from CT in late August, so I'm just finding things now. I'm definitely going to look into that rail trail that you're talking about!
Thanks!

Oh, wow! It said on their website that it remained cool, but ice patches in late June?! Whodathunk it? But definitely nice for people like me who really hate the heat (but isn't, obviously, a fan of winter either... LOL!).
My dog is almost TOO agile. That's why I'm afraid of him killing me on rocks. He caused me to break my leg last winter on one of our walks. And that was on flat ground. Such a monster! Eh, I'll just get my husband to hold his leash.
The double line just above the river is the trail.
Fabulous! Thank you!
