Will be curious to see how many families actually do this. so many seem to be 'welcoming' them in their political statements, but when it comes down to it we'll see how many welcome them into their home.

Well, lot of people taken in Ukrainians since that all began. It will be interesting to see if we are as welcoming to "these" people.

hmm i didn't realize that about the Ukranians. I don't know anyone who has nor have i heard anything on that on social media which people tend to brag about when they do it.

I've seen requests for donations of household goods and clothes for Ukranian families on my local neighborhood message board. These people have been set up with apartments and they have sponsors.

Most if not all of families who took Ukrainian families were from former USSR.
So maybe previous Haitian immigrants or immigrants from other Caribbean countries can do the same?

I know several. They lived with FSU families then got apartments (or dorms) for which they pay rent.
I also think it is a temporary thing. 2 years?
