Wow, I don't think I'd ever be able to make it on $10/hr.

If you learned how to budget well and manage your money you would. I could make it on 40 hours a week at $9 an hour if I had too. It's all about NEEDS... Not wants.

What kind of work are you looking to do? You should be able to do better than $10 per hour as a skilled person.

I finished High School, but never finished College. I don't really have an skills per say. I have years of Customer Service is that counts. Right now I work in a factory which I like because I have benefits for the first time. I would like to stay within a factory setting or something else that a mostly unskilled person gets as that way I will at least have benefits for when I get old.

Some college, without a degree is not really educated. $10-$15 per hour is what you can expect.

That might be doable where you live.... but the piece you are missing is that in Miami, the rents are very high -- just my basic fundamentals (rent, utilities, groceries, gas) came to about 1400/month, and that's in a relatively INexpensive studio apartment. Net pay from 10 bucks an hour after taxes doesn't even cover those basics, never mind car payment or anything else. A job that pays more than 10 bucks an hour is indeed a NEED - not a want - in Miami.

I guess that's what I'm implying, is that I could do that in my area. I understand the issues with COL in Miami, and I am not planning on moving there because of those reasons. I will however be going there for vactation sometime to enjoy boobies on the beach. LOL. Speaking of... If I happen to go to Miami during the winter (depending on how my vacations fall), are people still out on the beach? I've always wondered that. I know it can get in the 70's (I think), but I've always wondered how many girls actually show up then. 70 degree weather can be a tad bit nipplely. Oh wait... That was the point. LOL.
Sorry. That was much funnier in my head.

Maybe it's not your thing, but you would have a much better chance on the west coast of Fl.

Not when you have a wife, an 11 year old and a 1 year old.

The beaches are filled with people all year long, however you will not see very many Miami people on the beaches during the winter months. When the daytime highs start dropping below 85f, Miami people start breaking out their sweaters and wool caps.
