Since alot people here dwell on petty things, here is mine. First of all, I am Puerto Rican " so I am not anti-hispanic", I grew up in pre-andrew Saga Bay ,and Pinecrest and now reside Miami Shores. But to the point, what annoys me are these little flags of other countries that people hang in their rearview mirrors. It is like going out of your way, to prop up your country, yet your living here. If your country is so great, then go home.

ok, that is all

I agree with you. These people are dishonoring their countries by simply being here. So waving the flag of their country here means nothing.

Are you for real and serious..... I think there are bigger things in South Florida other than someone displaying a flag of their country somewhere on their car that should annoy you.......

Take the idiot that killed 3 kids this past Sunday when their Dad's mini van was rear ended, or the guy that killed the girl crossing the street 2 weeks ago and took off or the Doctor that was hit and killed also this past Sunday and the driver didn't stop. Or the people that are loosing their jobs and having a hard time putting food on the table to feed their kids....... Even the corporate big wigs who get bonuses and travel in luxury and buy 50 million dollar planes with our tax "bail out" dollars.

Those are the things that should annoy you, not a little flag.

So if waving the flag of their particular county here means nothing as you say... then don't worry yourself about it........

And displaying a flag of another county is not dishonoring it... they are HONORING their county, their heritage and where they come from.

I think thats a great aspect of a diverse area. Seeing the Carribean, South American, and other random flags on cars and businesses that you have no idea where they are from. If I were to move to another country I would proudly show my american heritage be it a car or a businees I were to own. In the same way I always proudly state Im from DC and wear sport jerseys from the area.

JulianM09> If I were to move to another country I would proudly show my american heritage be it a car or a businees I were to own.

It's not commonly done in most places. It's generally considered an insult to to the host country, regardless of your origin.

The Mexican immigrants who were protesting for rights and benefits in California a couple of years ago set their own cause back by waving a lot of Mexican flags. The idea of asking a host country for favors while waving the flag of one's home country does not compute. I don't know how the Mexican protesters failed to realize this.

Also, if you display the flag of your native country but not that of the U.S. (if you're a U.S. resident) gives the impression that your real allegiance is with the country you were born in, and that you are here just as a convenience. In other words, it causes citizens here to feel used.
