I'm not defending Belling beliefs but the truth is the truth. Plenty of Milwaukee residents listen to Belling. You cant be number one in this market unless you have a strong metro following. Just listen to his callers, many of them are black and talk about how they live in the city.
I live on the near west side and listen to his show.
He does a good job, that's why he fills in on the number one radio show in the country, Rush Limbaugh.

I see nothing wrong with belling and since I have been listening to talk radio since I was 12, I would say Milwaukee has some of the best sports talk(540,1250) and talk in the country. I've traveled more than the avg man and you go to places like Cincy and it's like listening to automated voice box. Whether you agree or disagree with Sykes(620), Belling(1130), or 1290 it's at least entertaining unlike the mono-tone 91.7.

Karfar, I think the term you are looking for to describe Belling and Sykes is "fascists". And for Limbaugh it would be "lying fascist".
And as a center-left Democrat, I think the word for McGee et al is "corrupt socialist poverty mongers".
Barret came into power after I left Milwaukee, but he's always struck me as a centrist Dem. I really liked Norquist, and was sad to see that he couldn't "keep it in his pants". He was a Democrat who realized that the public schools were failing, and he saw the idiocy of TIF districts.

This thread was started in early 2006...it is so old.
It wasn't intended to be a liberal or conservative mud-throwing anger area.
Let's just close it down and let a very old thread die a peaceful death.
