wouldn't that have been a fitting end to Favre's season to get hit with that?

That was pretty dramatic footage! I'm glad this didn't happen during a game.

They should replace the fabric and make it a fixed dome.

After looking at that clip, I'm so glad we have an open stadium here in Boston......and so many times I've asked why don't we have a closed dome stadium????? Now I know why.

I can't stand another team I care about moving....
but if there's 1 year left on their lease....and no stadium deal done...
they will be in LA, San Antonio or even Toronto, in 2013. NFL and it's owners, don't care about tradition and $ that much, the Vikings will lose a boatload of dollars, losing this home game.

Not necessarily. You must understand that the roof isn't made like most domes. It is air-supported and made of fiberglass fabric. Of course the roof has a higher chance of caving in. Domes are great building stuctures. They can make alot of room in a small space. The shape allows for more pressure to but put on it. It also depends on what you make that dome from. If you look at how Miller Park in Milwaukee,WI is built, you might understand. Ford Field in Detroit is a domed stadium and it is doing fine. Personally, I like domes. It depends on the material you make it from.
