So what do you city data users think make the Twin Cities world-class?
Are the Cities as a whole world class? Or is it just Minneapolis? Does MInneapolis need St. Paul to be world class? I think the Cities both need eachother to be of global notoriety.
Anyway, my list of world class things found in the Twin Cities:

1. Mall of America- one of the largest malls in the world, #1 tourist attraction in the Cities

2. MSP Airport- handles over 30 million passengers each year, consistently ranks as one of the best airports in America and the world, hub for Delta, and has many international destinations and flights.

3. The true twin cities in the world. Both cities compliment eachother nicely. They do need eachother.

4. They are the largest metro on the Mississippi River, one of the longest in the world, and longest in North America.

5. They are home to all of the big 4 U.S. sports

Anything else you can think of?

Oh no, not even close

30 million doesn't even put us in top20, hardly world-class but I'll give ypu the benefit of doubt with this one.

What does it have to do with being
" world-class"?

The second-biggest spoon in the world, worldclass.

Mary Tyler Moore threw her hat in the air here. That's gotta be world class.

Other than that? Mpls/St Paul are viable cities with working economies and a good quality of life. I like it here. It's as good a metro area as it needs to be.

This was already discussed in the following thread: Does Minneapolis have what it takes to be a global city?

Haha, totally agree here. Regarding the airport, Delta (worst airline running today) is letting it slowly fall off the map in favor of Detroit International. Detroit runs at a psychotic pace thanks to all the long-distance flights it services out of there. Memphis' airport is doing even worse.

What is inherently wrong with a city being world class?
