I think you use it because you're ashamed of living in cake-eater land.

Also IMO, of course.

Now, if he only participates in this forum you might have a stronger case, at least in my eyes.
I like how you wrote your location description, rc. Few know Marbleton, but "NW suburban Atlanta" pinpoints it for us.

It isn't usually as badly mispronounced by out-of-staters as Wayzata is, though.

The Twin Cities are easy -- the suburbs are all incorporated cities for the most part, and everything shows up on a map.

The Atlanta metro is a sea of incorporated islands (cities like Smyrna, Marietta, etc.) surrounded by a sea of unincorporated territory, and while many of those unincorporated areas have local names (Vinings, Mableton, etc.), there isn't really anything "formal" in place to attach the name to, at least in most cases.

The whole area is all homogeneous suburb, really, and you can't tell incorporated areas from unincorporated for the most part unless you look at someone's property taxes.

It's a wonderful place to live - unfortunately there has always been a stereotype - most that criticize would die to live here - too bad.

South Mpls - you must be over by Lake St & Portland? Lovely.

Jealously doesn't become you.

What are you saying, that I should change my location to Edina? What's with the Lake/Portland bashing anyway, there's a good Valvoline service station on that intersection.
