My husband and I will probably be relocating to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area in the late Spring of next year. My job looks like it will be in downtown St. Paul. We're not sure where his will be yet. We really like the apartments we've seen in the Plymouth, MN area but I'm concerned about the commute. Does anyone know if this is a long commute with a lot of traffic congestion? Anyone know about how long the average commute from Plymouth into St. Paul normally is during rush hour? Thanks!

Don't do it. Traveling from the west side of town to the east and back is one of the worst, if not the worst, possible commutes in the Twin Cities. You'll travel congested 394, try to figure a way around the jammed Lowry tunnel or endure an interminable wait to get thru, and then plug along at a snail's pace on the frequently-under-repair 94. Then at night you'll get to do it all over again.
