We are thinking of moving to Grand Rapids, MN. We've heard about all the somailian refugee's brought into Minnesota and were wondering if Grand Rapids has a lot of these refugee's? If so, are there a lot of problems associated with these people, such as crime? Thank you.

refugees.

And, I don't remember seeing a lot of Somalians in Grand Rapids, but seriously, what a completely silly thing to worry about. You won't fit in at all well with the Grand Rapids folks I know if you're open about such a petty concern.

Why? Do you think they're associated with the Mexican drug cartels or the Russian mafia?

If Grand Rapids isn't white enough for you, no place is.

Just steer clear of the Little Mogadishu part of town...

You should stay where you are presently. Please don't move to Minnesota. Thank you.

It was once shocking for me when I would become aware that there were still people who thought this way in this day and age....that unfortunately changed with the results of the 2016 presidential election. It's really sad and I really hope we as Americans can get over these close-minded and dare I say, xenophobic tendencies.

Get over yourself. Geez

There are legitimate reasons to not want anything to do with the Somali's no matter what the bound up, locked up and brain locked PC freaks will say.

So what would be the "legitimate" reasons?
