Default north woods lodges and cabins

Is it too late to book a week at a cabin in the north country around Ely, or Bemidji? And recommendations? A cabin on a lake with a fishing boat is what I'm looking for.

One possibility is the Evergreen Resort between Park Rapids and Lake George. I know they have some openings for a change. (218) 732-4766 It's on Big Sand Lake and they have boats.

I know both the owners of Timber Trail Lodge and Camp Van Vac and they are both very, very nice. Worked at the first one, one season--overall nice cabins. Some are small, but in a good, cozy way. Parents of a friend stayed at the latter and enjoyed it. Almost all resorts in the Ely area have boats for you to use; the type and whether it is free or for an additional fee vary and I don't have experience with that.

As far as availability, just start calling. There will always be cancellations and a smaller party and flexibility in timing is always helpful. Good luck!
