Like I said in another thread, I have a low tolerance for Moderator cut: no name-calling here
. I was honest and made some very valid responses to your remarks earlier, and yet you chose not to address those at all, and instead you persisted to try to degrade my home state. We are very hospitable here, but if you are persistantly rude, we will not hesitate to kick you to the curb. So, if you want to be polite and hold a decent conversation, grab a seat and some sweet tea and let's talk. Otherwise, don't let the door hit you on the way out. It's your choice.

I never said that I did not like Mississippi, I love the state. My parents were born and raised there. You are putting words into my mouth. I will take the high road, and not resort to name calling. I'm too old for that. I started this thread and I am very interested to hear what people have to say, and I also thank you for your input as well. I really enjoy listening to everyone's thoughts and experiences. If I personally offended you I am sorry, and I did not start this thread with that intent.

You wedre surpriused to find out there's many racist people in Boston because you thought they were "liberall?"

I think if there is one theme to this thread it's that EVERYONE needs to stop grouping EVERYONE by their geography. I personally love MS but it's hardly been my experience that "Mississippians" all embrace people who are not from here or who are different any more than do Californians or New Yorkers (go to LA and start talking with a drawl and see how many folks don't take you seriously).

The difference between a red and a blue state is in most cases only about ten percent.. Being from Boston or New York or anywhere N of Mason-Dixon does not make someone greatly more likely to be "liberal" or conservative (or intelligent or well schooled or ignorant). Culture is just not that black and white no matter what Rush and Al Franken and Nancy Grace might like us all to believe.

[Moderator cut: original quote removed
I believe you are referring to "diversity" or "integration", but you are using the word "racist.". And yes, I do live in Jackson where it is 70% black, and I am white.

The Southern Poverty Law Center tracks hate groups around the country.
To find the known hate groups in a state check their map at
SPLCenter.org: Hate Groups Map

I've lived in MS for a year now and have not seen or heard of any hate activity. I'm not saying it's not there. I'm just saying I haven't seen it.

I wouldn't doubt the KKK exists in Wisconsin. The KKK got as far as Oregon and Washington state. With that said, I have a link here for you to see:SPLCenter.org: Hate Groups Map

According to this, I counted 9 KKK groups, as well as some others.
