That was 15 minutes I'll never get back (I fell asleep the other 15 minutes, it was on late at night).

What a terrible show. So fake, so boring. Wow.

I used to live maybe 10 minutes from Midway, so my brother (who lives well out of state) suggested for me to DVR the show. It's not the greatest show out there and overall shows the area in a pretty bad light. I've gotten gas at Midway several times and it wasn't any different than any other truck stop/gas station. I've never seen livestock sold outside of an auction barn or stockyard, people making out in broad daylight in a gas station parking lot, or strippers getting tattooed in Missouri. I've also never seen anybody dressed in a straw hat, flannel, and overalls, especially not dressed in that getup and fishing in a sewage lagoon. About the most "interesting" thing I've ever seen at a truck stop was a guy in Tennessee light up a cigarette and then start pumping gas into a white Silverado. I hightailed it out of there pretty quick since he was on the other side of the pump I was using...

I used to live in Midway but got gas at the Little General across the highway from the truck stop. The hotel at the truck stop is pretty vile; we knew a woman who used to clean the rooms there (and some really were "rent by the hour", at least unofficially). Never ventured into the "Back Door Lounge", tattoo parlor, or even the C-store at the truck stop (mainly becuase I don't smoke).

Midway used to do a fireworks display every 3rd of July next to the Little General gas station. That's just crazy.

And the Cow Pattie Bingo used to be at the Little General also but moved to the truck stop after a change in ownership.

Ok didn't see the show drove OTR years ago.To me the worse Truck Stop in the U.S. was TA in Atlanta but me being young I did Party Hardy there many times.

I had my wife with me one time in Nashville she wanted to stop at the TA against my advise being the Pan Handlers and Lot Lizards. She went inside I fueled before I could park had a Lot Lizard about ready to Pop jump on my moving Rig wanting to Party.

Did enjoy driving and Partying if I didn't have a Family.

Well, that explains all of the "No Lot Lizards" stickers I saw on trucks in the ATL region when I visited there.

The latest episode of the show is even worse than the last. It consists of cow patty bingo, a calf-roping camp, and the motel manager fishing a pair of tighty-whities out of the toilet of a room occupied by a bunch of obviously trashed cowboys. I have yet to see any of that in Missouri, especially near Columbia. You'd be more likely to see Priuses slathered with Barack Obama bumper stickers and MacBook-toting metrosexuals in Columbia than cowboys and Holsteins taking dumps.

My husband and I have been DVRing episodes of Truck Stop Missouri.

IMO it gives everyone in Missouri a bad reputation as a bunch of backwater, uneducated, rednecks. Just my two cents.

I agree, my husband, who is FL born and raised, is horrified by how the show makes Missourians look.

I hate to say it, but it seems most on the west and east coast if they don't associate Missouri with St. Louis and the Arch, they tend to associate it with Rednecks, bigots, white trash, trailer parks and meth.

No other Midwestern state is referred to as negatively as Missouri although Indiana I see it sometimes associated with white trash but not as much as Missouri. I never see it with KS, IL, OH.

Then again Missouri was a border state, civil war history, and culturally is the only state of the Midwest that has sections located in the south and has sections of the state dominated by southern culture which it seems when most try and make fun of Missouri it's because of the Ozarks region, or the bootheel, places that lean southern culturally.

I remember right after the 2008 elections the liberals were calling Missouri racist because Obama didn't win it despite it being a close race and some of the polls had him winning Missouri yet he still narrowly lost it and they blamed the Ozarks and that. I remember Matt Blunt making a statement defending Missouri from the comments about race being an issue.
