The fact that Tilley and other key Republicans were willing to face potential embarrassment and even some political fallout makes me wonder if Rush Limbaugh hasn't recently donated a large amount of money to a statewide Republican PAC. I hope there are some journalists exploring Limbaugh's political contributions. I wouldn't be surprised if Limbaugh bought his place in the hall with a big chunk of money to fund the Republican candidate to challenge Nixon in November.
I don't think there is likely to be much politcal fallout from this because I feel confident that a large percentage of Missouri voters either are neutral on Rush or are quite supportive of him.

This is only enraging liberals who wouldn't vote for these guys anyway.

Have you heard anything about that?
Seems late to do it now. Maybe in 4 years if Nixon wins again.

Agree. I mean look at AirAmerica radio and how it went belly up.

I highly highly doubt that. I know plenty of conservatives but very few who like, support or listen to Rush and his racist, mysognistic hate speech. It says something about one's character if you do, frankly.

The busts are paid for by the Speaker of the House's annual golf classic.

Honestly I don't think you know that many conservatives. And Rush's ratings prove an awful lot of people are listening to him, in Missouri and elsewhere. I assume they listen because they agree with him, which bolsters my original point: There is not likely to be much, if any, political fallout over putting him in the hall of famous Missourians. Those that hate Rush and are enraged by this would not have voted for these people anyway.

And with all due respect, labeling opinions you don't agree with as hate speech says something about one's character in my view.

Hate is hate, to label it anything else is being disingenuous, if not moreso than that.
Your comment to araragx6 about not knowing many conservatives also falls into the disingenuous category.

I am dubious about people who claim to know lots of conservatives yet few if any of those so-called conservatives like or support Rush Limbaugh.

I'm a conservative. I know many conservatives. Most of my friends are conservatives. Not all listen to Rush regularly, but I don't know any that don't generally agree with him.

Does that mean we endorse everything he says? Of course not, he's on the radio 15 hours a week. Even I think his "****" comment was beyond the pale and he ultimately apologized for it.

But in general he very accurately and persuasively makes conservative arguments and comments on his show.

And again, his ratings are the highest in radio and have been for twenty years. I'm sure a few liberals listen to him, but for the most part it's conservatives. Look at how he's received at CPAC and other conservative venues when he speaks.

He's very well liked and supported by conservatives. That's really not debatable.

So again, I'm dubious when a liberal claims to know a lot of conservatives but few of any of those conservatives like Rush.

Of course, I'm also dubious about people who don't live in Missouri but claim to know what most Missourians think about an issue. I guess you have to show me.

Rush provides conservative political commentary on his show. Political commentary is not hate speech.

There are these marvelous inventions called newspapers and telephones.
Perhaps you've heard of them?
Ironically enough, you and our resident MO forum troll are the only ones who have commented approval of Rush on this thread.
BTW, I live in MO enough of the year to pay state income tax, not to mention property tax, so......guess that qualifies me.
Not that I need your approval or approbation, and I would bet money I know more conservatives in MO than you do.
