There is nothing more frustrating than this...

Too bad there aren't more laws that prevent trucks from driving in the left lane.

Totally agree!

While they're're at it, MoDOT should properly grade BOTH sides of highways like U.S. 36, U.S. 50 and U.S. 63. It's kind of goofy the way one side will be properly graded and the other side will follow the terrain.
I travel 70 frequently in Missouri and elsewhere. I don't get what the big deal is.

Yea, it's not that busy. It's all relative I guess. I have family in mid Missouri and they always talk about how busy 70 is. You can generally to at least 80 on I-70 and the only thing that slows things down are slow vehicles in the left lane, which you can get around eventually. Volume on 70 in MO is just not that high and it's way less in Kansas where they have widened it to six lanes in some rural stretches. Try the I-95 corridor. Every lane always full, all the time.

Now 70 does need to be widened in metro KC. It's only four lanes in eastern Blue Springs, Grain Valley etc and those merge points are death traps because you have 70 mph traffic essentially narrowing to one lane to allow people to merge. Widen it to six lanes to Oak Grove, eight lanes from Blue Springs to 435 and maybe a few spots in the Columbia area. IT's already widened 60 miles west of St Louis. Save the money on the very rural stretches.
