I am bored.
That is all.
Have a nice day.

Is there anything to do on weekends around here until the lake gets refilled?
I don't drink.
I don't know really anyone around here.
Been to a couple of places, but everyone keeps to themselves.
Why is it so hard to make friends around here?

I went to the Climax Springs Loyalty Day festival, but there was nothing much to it.

It's a small town thing.

There are some state parks in the area like Ha Ha Tonka that are neat to visit.
The lakes are the biggest draw to the area in terms of things to do.

Personally, I'd be going to Kansas City or St. Louis at least 1-2 times a month if I lived in Climax Springs, especially in the off season.

I've had enough of "big city life"
I did it most of my life.
What is there to do in both of those places?

Well, having lived in the St. Louis area, it is definitely parochial there. Maybe some of that has spread to your "neck of the woods".

Maybe, but and maybe I'm taking the word wrong, I thought that church people were friendly.

I meant the second definition of parochial. That means having a narrow view.

Many in the St. Louis area are heavily focused only on the St. Louis Metro area. The area may not be extremely welcoming for many outsiders. The St. Louis area does have it's own culture, no doubt.

"Where did you go to high school?" is a common question. The answer is assumed to be one of the many St. Louis metro area high schools.

The area could be very easily seen as the definition of anti-cosmopolitan to many outsiders.

You know that you're only 30 minutes from the Lake of the Ozarks recreation area. I've been there once with my family on vacation and there's a LOT to do there. It's absolutely gorgeous.

How long have you been in the area?
Do you have a woman to take out camping?

If you were at [average small baptist church], you would be smothered in friendly.
But, every congregation is different.

I had to look at the web page for your lake...it looks pretty full to me.
Do you own a canoe?
Do you know how to safely "float" one?
("Float" is the term my family always used... )
