Can't say how far it was backed up, but it must have been for quite a distance. No contraflow because they didn't have time to set it up.

Also, watching Cantore now. Behind him is the simulated paddlewheel steamboat "City of New Orleans". Would be nice if they could get it out of harm's way.

Its definitely chaotic on the interstate right now

This area’s stretch of I-10 is the worst between New Orleans and Jacksonville. I tried to go to grand bay Sunday afternoon and it was beyond stressful through Tillman’s corner and Theodore

This weekend, official construction will begin for the I-10 expansion from Plantation Road over pass to Mcdonald Road interchange. 4.8 miles of interstate will be expanded in either direction. It will cost 24.9 million dollars, and run from September 2021 to May 2024

Just now saw this. Not many bridges would actually be needed, no more than any other interstate, assuming that a bypass would happen west of Mobile, there are no swampland or marshes (I assume that this would be the reasoning behind your comment), just a bunch of hills

Going from 2 to 3 lanes in each direction, 3 to 4, or what?
