No. This could NEVER be argued, EVER, by people who know about hospitals.
CAMC is a terrible hospital.
WV has two good hosptials; WVU and Mon. They are mountains. The rest of the hospitals are anthills.
You are correct that WV has two good hospitals. 1) CAMC and 2) Cabell Huntington. Mon General and WVUH are unranked. They are in the bottom under others recieving votes.

Whatever you say chief.
Back to reality all sources show Morgantown has the best hospitals and they are the best by far. Mountains to anthills.
Mon general is the second best hospital in the state after WVU.
Either is a good choice and the only good hospitals in WV.
Give me a break. CCMH and CAMC are good hospitals and I wouldn't hesitate to go to either. None of which are even close to being on the same level as the big boys like UPMC, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Penn, etc. Why anyone that needs a specialist in non-urgent situation would go to Ruby is beyond me. You literally have 3 world class facilities within a short drive to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, or Baltimore. Unless there are insurance issues.

Yes bigger cities have better hospitals. The best hospitals in WV are still in Morgantown. Better hospitals exist outside of WV but this thread is about WV. Why anyone would go to CCMH and CAMC when they could go to better hospitals in Morgantown or out of state in a few hours is beyond me.

Depends. Do you even know how these rankings work? These rankings you see are usually about research and bleeding edge treatment. Not basic care. If you need some routine procedure or hospital stay, there really is no reason to go to a major research hospital. At Ruby, you have an endless stream of idiot students and residents going around annoying you at all times of the day. But they have the best professional staff in the state. Its sort of a tradeoff. You get to be a glorified science project with the best attending physicians...or you can have treatment by just professional staff.
So like I said...routine matters, the last place I go is Ruby. Need a specialist for some rare illness or something along those lines? If I'm in Morgantown, its UPMC. Parkersburg, its the Cleveland Clinic. Eastern Panhandle, Johns Hopkins. Charleston and points South...well, its geographically isolated, so I guess you are hosed and have to deal with the CAMC people or hike it to Ruby or UPMC. Though it depends on what you need. I was way more impressed with CAMC's cardiology dept over Ruby. But Ruby's cancer department is better than CAMC. But point is, posturing like Ruby is just so much better than CAMC is ridiculous hyperbole. Ruby isn't nationally ranked in anything. Just like CAMC.

How you feel about things is irrelevant to how hospitals really are and the statistics are clear on the issue.
Sounds like you did hesitate and chose Mon General? Isn't the actual doctor opening up your chest the most important aspect of the hospital?
I am pleased to get treatment at either WVU Hospitals or Mon General Hospital. Both provide superior care. Since you're here on this board with good intentions, I'm sure you'll agree with that. The physician who implanted my stent was just fine. Thanks for your interest.

I have to take you to task on that statement, Steve. Not only are Morgantown's hospitals the best in the state, one of them is the one most of the other hospitals turn to for advice on important matters. They are "ranked" where it counts.
