OUTSTANDING new trailer for Aquaman. MUCH better than the other one we got. If you don't get the whole point of the movie, I don't know what to tell you. I can't wait.

Aside from the Whedonesque snark, yeah it does look good. Black Manta looks wonderfully formidable.

That's not Whedonesque snark, that's Momoa being Momoa.

Best trailer of the year.

He'd do better to try being the strong, silent type. He should watch more Bronson and Eastwood movies. Or Lee Marvin. Even crusty old Lee Marvin could be hilarious because he wasn't constantly snarking off. Because his quips were few and far between, every one was a gem.

But really: no, he isn't. Momoa is acting the script given to him. The snark is in the script. It's in the script because someone on the committee said, "Get rid of all this dark grimness. Be more like Marvel! More jokes!"

It definitely looks like it is taking more cues from WONDER WOMAN than the Superman/Batman movies. Which is a good call.

You're being too hard on him. Have you seen any of Jason's other movies? His personality isn't really like Game of Thrones' Khal Drogo. Jason's boisterous by nature.

(We all saw how well "strong and silent" worked out for Boseman in Black Panther.)

More pot-stirring. I'm not getting a Jenkins vibe from Wan. He's got his own.

The only Wan movie I've seen is The Conjuring, which I liked. This looks nothing like that.

I am seeing a Graeco Roman flavor to the architecture, lots of bright and airy action shots, a "chosen one" of unusual lineage. Definitely reminiscent of WW --- although WW was getting that from lots of myths. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. But it is definitely there.

I saw the CONAN remake he was in, which was terrible. Not Momoa's fault. It was a crap script. And I saw the Canadian frontier TV show he was in, the name of which has escaped me. I liked it.

Momoa may have been cast for his personal traits. Lots of actors are. But he isn't making it up as he goes along. He is acting lines from a script. All that snark was in the script. I'm sure lots of people love it. I'm just tired of it. Showing my age, I guess. I prefer movie heroes to be adults and not perpetual adolescents.

Quite well, I thought. It was certainly a breath of fresh air compared to the someone-please-make-him-shut-up Iron Man.

The Conjuring and Furious 7 look nothing like each other, either. Wan directed both.

He was practically cardboard. He was outshined by the rest of the cast, no matter the scene.
