There's no such thing as too old for Disney.

I used to play the Disney songs in foreign languages in the hotel. Kiss the Girl in Dutch.

“Now there are adults without children who go to Disney, and they are called weirdos. Very nice people. Absolutely crazy. Even the nerdiest of nerds at Comic-Con think those people are nut jobs. 'Hey, I may be wearing a Batman suit, but you're waiting in line for an autograph from Aladdin? Get some perspective, dude!' ” ― Jim Gaffigan

Why watch this one when you could watch the original? This one is 2hr15 min. The original is 83min. Gci sea creatures singing under the sea fills my imagination with nightmares.

I'm not sure why they would remake this this way.

They aren't really live action they are cartoons just digitally animated.

I was born in the 80s I grew up watching all the old Disney movies and for a good chunk of my childhood they were making a new one ever year. My favorite was Aladdin.

That's incorrect, she may do a fine job. My major component is it's 2:15 long. My other complaint is the CGI sea creatures are likely nightmare fuel. I could be wrong.

Apparently all mermaids are white and anything else is OUTRAGEOUS!!
I think the only people saying this is Disney.

I wonder if those people were just as outraged when Italians Romeo and Juliet were changed to Polish/Irish Tony and Puerto Rican Maria?
Who Disney? Well yeah they'll say anything to excuse their criticism. The main character in Indiana Jones is a white guy and they can't even fill advanced screening theaters.

I am not going to see it as I haven't liked a live action Disney cartoon remake since "The Jungle Book" with Jason Scott Lee. (I admit that most kids' movies have not appealed for me for probably 20 years, however.)

However, the thought of people avoiding it because of a non-white mermaid just makes me laugh. Fish come in all kinds of colors and as far as I know, all human races swim or can learn to do so. Plus, this is imaginary.

So what is so weird about the idea of a mermaid of ANY color?

.........
I dunno. All the mermaids I have ever seen, although it has usually been from a distance, have appeared to be white.
