Mine is Jim Carrey's version of The Grinch. It had no spark. Even as a kid, I remember thinking "this movie tries too hard. Why isn't it funnier?" The special effects were distracting. They were trying to do a Tim Burton thing with the sets and characters and it didn't work. I like Jim Carrey, but he was overacting here. It was so frantic, yet it had nothing to draw you in. It was one of those movies that tried to be too many things and ended up being nothing.

Can you name one, and why?

'LOVE' this thread.

The Home Alone movies
Elf
The Santa Clause
Nightmare Before Christmas
Jingle All The Way
Bad Santa

Any Christmas movie that is R rated (and most of them that are PG-13)

Any Christmas movie with a "Bah Humbug!" kind of theme or plot

Btw, I don't like the Home Alone movies or The Santa Clause because movies that feature, imo, bratty kids are a real turn-off for me.

In short, I like movies that leave me with a good feeling, and I also prefer nostalgic ones.

P.S. I also agree with the OP about The Grinch for the same reasons s/he said.

P.P.S. I forgot to add a TV movie, "The Man Who Saved Christmas" to the list above because it was based on the life of A.C. Gilbert (credited with the invention of Erector sets), but they took so many liberties with the truth in so many ways that it was a complete turn-off for me. Btw, I hate it when this is done with ANY movie, not just Christmas ones!

I've only watched the trailer.
However, the people responsible for A Christmas Story 2 should be banished from the planet.

I really, really don't like most holiday movies. MOST of them. I do like a few though, and will watch them every few years.

I don't acknowledge any of the movie versions of the Grinch. The animated TV special is perfection, and that the story had to be padded with so much fluff to make a whole movie is not it.

Eh. I'd say there aren't any I don't like, just that pretty much all of them leave me wondering what the big deal is.

This is kinda my feeling in a nutshell.

I don't enjoy Elf the way so many others do. I mean it's good, just not like a mega classic hilarious film like others feel it is. Not to me, at least.

Another one I can think of is Christmas with the Kranks. Usually, Tim Allen can't miss, but the whole thing was just flat and boring. It was more like a Greek tragedy than a comedy.

I pretty much agree w/the movies that some don't like: Elf (it was okay to watch once but that was enough), Home Alone (ACK after 1 viewing), the Grinch w/Jim Carey, Polar Express, the later versions of Scrooge, I'm sure there are more I can't think of. Bring back the classics.
