Yes, Henry Fonda was the star, along with Jane Darwell, John Carradine, and Charley Grapewin. The movie is from 1940.

OMG, how could I have forgotten that one???? With Gene Tierney & Rex Harrison & Natalie Wood. What a WONDERFUL movie!!! Rex Harrison was one sexy man!!!

The woman that played 'Mrs. Fairley' was also on a Soap Opera in the 70s, but I don't recall which one. General Hospital or maybe One Life To Live....just can't remember.

I rent it about once a year. Loved that movie. Even the TV show wasn't that bad.

Ever see "Dark Passage"? I think it's kind of a weak film, but there's a segment filmed on this highway in Marin that I recall having driven on.

That movie was the personal creation of its producer, Kirk Douglas.

A great, great artist.

Ever see "Seven Days in May"? They never show it anymore.

Dedalus, thanks for remembering that great black and white flick.

Although Manchurian Candidate was released in '62, it didn't reach my neighborhood theater until the end of '63. I was still reeling from that one when Seven Days In May appeared a few months later. Two great ones - back to back.

"Jiggs, do you know who Judas was?"

I wonder if you can rent it.

You bring up "The Manchurian Candidate", that's another of my favorites. There was some legal problem with it so you couldn't rent it on video for many years - when you could again, I was the first in line.

The remake is interesting. I liked it. Meryl Streep is fantastic.
