Not a big fan of Apocalypse Now but Patton is great and I will add Saving Private Ryan.

I'd have to go with Saving Private Ryan. Another good one would be Patton. Here's one you don't see on many war movies list, yet it is just about as good as they come... Glory. Another one that is good if maybe not great, that goes overlooked, Sahara with Bogart.
