AC/DC- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (the proper Australian release with Jailbreak)
Aerosmith- Rocks
Blue Oyster Cult- Agents Of Fortune
ELO- A New World Record
Judas Priest- Sad Wings Of Destiny
Led Zeppelin- Presence
The Alan Parsons Project- Tales Of Mystery And Imagination
Queen- A Day At The Races
Rainbow- Rising
Rush- 2112
Scorpions- Virgin Killer
Thin Lizzy- Jailbreak

You may wonder why a lifelong KISS fan such as m'self hasn't included Destroyer and Rock And Roll Over on such a list. My reasoning is simple. I don't much care for the original band. Peter Criss stinks up everything he plays (badly) and (allegedly) sings on. They became a much better group once they kicked him to the kerb and brought in the late Eric Carr. I've got flayed alive on several forums for suggesting the classic lineup are anything less than gods, but I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

Deep Purple-Machine Head and Made In Japan.
Black Sabbath-Vol.4

Many great artists released records that year, but I haven´t heard the full albums.

I will ignore any negative posts about Kiss´ original line up.

I was born in 1980, and there are 5 records that came out that year that I still listen to constantly:

Rush-Permanent Waves

The Cure-Boys Don’t Cry (which was a sort of compilation/re-release of the original Three Imaginary Boys album).

The Cure-Seventeen Seconds

David Bowie - Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)

Bob Marley-Uprising
