Dawn, thank you so much for the info. That is exactly what we are looking for. I'm so excited to be coming back to Nashville and showing my family the area. Hopefully it's what I remembered & my wife will share my feelings...so we can move there!!!

Take in a Nashville Sounds game - AAA baseball, cheap, kid-friendly, most between inning contests/stunts involve kids.

For a superb breakfast, go to the Pancake Pantry (about 3 miles from downtown down 21st Street).

Yes, SPTLSS1- listen to bobtn. Go to the Pantry. Stand in line. Enjoy a fantastic breakfast among locals, (oftentimes famous locals). You won't be sorry.

Well, if the original poster does decide to take in a Sounds game, let me know and I can probably get you good reserved-seat tickets for free.

Trust me...the wifey has already discovered the Pancake Pantry and is more excited about eating there than any other part of the trip.

Another place with great local flavor and food is Monnells', off 8th Avenue North (about 1 mile from downtown). 100 plus year old restored house, with a few rooms, with large tables where they seat multiple parties and pass plates around as one would at a buffet at home.

BTW, the kids will love Predators game, too, in future years. New owners, high % local, with gigantic buyout required if owners wanted to move. So liklihood is, Preds are here for many, many years (decades?) to come.

Your welcome. We just moved here from Florida in the fall and we love it. There is so much to do and see. We cant wait to take our kids everywhere. Everything is only a few hours away. It's so nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors in the spring. This is the first Spring my kids have experienced. The love it, I cant get them to come inside. Have fun when you come.

Also eat at the Loveless Cafe on Highway 100 in Nashville. Twice, when I was there I saw Bucky Covington of American Idol Fame(Now a Country Star) eating his usual Chocolate Chip Pancakes. I was there the other day with a friend and the waitress said he comes there every week and orders that.

Loveless Cafe

You can go there and hop on the Nathez State Parkway , whose entrance starts right there. I took it the other day to drop my friend off at her home in Franklin. Its a Scenic Highway with overlooks. She is a Chicago transplant, and it was her first trip on the Nathez, The Dogwoods had bloomed, so very pretty.
