Any city in Nevada with a traditional downtown? (Henderson, Carson City: casino, to live in)

I remember somebody once saying a city would have a population of, ohhhh, I think they said 20,000 or 25,000. If that's so, then we don't have many of those in Nevada. The towns are relatively old, although some people don't consider 100 or so years as old when compared to the 17th century towns of the east, or the 18th century towns of the south. Most towns in Nevada are former mining boom towns that went bust. But a few of them keep hanging on by their claws like a cat on a screen door. I think if this were Australia, they would be called "stations", or sheep camps, or something.

By "city" I meant any town or settlement or larger urbanization. I exclude suburbs, because they're really extensions of the city. In Minnesota - my state - almost all "towns" above 500 have a downtown.

Keep in mind that Nevada only has about 70 towns. Some barely worth mentioning. The third largest metropolitan area, behind Reno/Sparks/Carson City/Minden/Gardnerville, and Las Vegas Metro is Elko with about 25,000 people.

Comparing Nevada to Minnesota is like comparing the Gobi Desert to the Yangtze Valley.

Again, the original question was "traditional" ─ "not all tourists" ─ "not looking like a highway strip".

And Virginia City, while it is a great tourist attraction, and the liveliest ghost town this side of the Pecos, it has no traditional downtown. In most states those buildings would all be condemned.

And, except for Ely and Elko, and possibly, but not really, Carson City; maybe not Boulder City either, but there are no tall buildings, all other towns in Nevada look like the highway strips the O/P mentioned. They all look like the same town, and if they are big enough, and only Boulder City, Elko, Ely, and CC are big enough, except for Boulder City, they all have casinos and tourists.

So we can name towns all day, or answer the O/P's question the way it was asked.

I completely disagree , by traditional downtown the OP doesn't mean tall buildings, he's simply talking about a traditional walkable downtown with storefronts and character. Rather than the Wal-Mart and Taco Bells on a highway like Pahrump.

I would say most towns in Nevada have a downtown.
