Default Cost of septic & well

Can someone give me a ballpark figure on well & septic? I'm thinking of putting up a mobile on acreage. Prefer a rural but not isolated area within reasonable commuting distance to a large city like Reno or Vegas. Two areas I'm considering are north of Reno and Pahrump outskirts. Thanks.

I realize it varies everywhere you go but, we got a quote for a well 20 miles outside Winnemucca and to go 140 foot down it was just a touch over 11,000. The septic depends on size of house but we understand between 5 to 10 thousand.

Yes! All that stuff can cost you more than the land itself.

Yes it can. 5-10k is actually a fairly low figure (depending on location, ease of access, size of tank, etc.). My family business specializes in septic system installs in the Reno area (PM me for more info).

Not to shock anyone, but if you need an engineered septic system due to poor percolation of the soil you can be looking at $25-30k!

Are any of the counties in Nevada requiring those sprayer type of septic systems, as opposed to the old gravity feed tank and leech line set-up?

I thought they calculated wells by the depth. I remember a few years back in AZ; they were going 600 feet and then putting some dynamite down there.

The cost to put in a well (total) depends partly on depth, partly on how far away from the home location of the drilling rig, partly on how difficult it was to drill the well. If you're farther away from where the drilling rig is when it is dispatched to your job, you can expect to pay up for getting the rig to your location - this will be listed or quoted as a "mobilization fee" or something similar. This can be a couple/three thousand dollars all by itself, depending on your location.

That's a pretty good racket for a two grand tank! I install them in MT for $5k on the Rez - complete with lateral lines.

Pricing varies by region.

We haven't stayed in business for 60 years by ripping people off.
