para

no the question I put forth wasn't at you but anyway cheers for answering

I will agree people outside of mass have many misconseptions

not everyone is a liberal far left loon, far from it, the media inmass is very one sided for the dems and really don't report what is really going on, there is a special interest groups who have ruined parts of massachusetts

do I think its a great state yes

do I wish it could at least be 50 50 in politics yes to have a balance

is everyone a socialist or a liberal far from it
many union guys don't agree with the dems socially and can't be arsed to vote come election time and the ones that do only vote because the union says who to vote for like they haven't a brain

but the sad thing is for me and and the reason why I will never move back there again is because of how the state has become politically, high taxes, special interests taking over, it's disgusting and I'm not the only one .

duval patrick , kennedy, kerry , barney franks, delahunt and the rest along with certain special interest groups who like to shove their agenda down peoples lives have made the state for many and many unbearable to live now hence why people are leaving in droves and still they don't get it instead they want to pay people to stay but of course those with money will get it

I agree the class system bigotedness in boston is truely the worst I have ever seen and I have lived in many countries
many there think they are so better because of their job or they have money, they go on about diversity and how greeat it is yet won't live it
example
Awoman moves from cambridge to milton and they complain not enough diversity
so we tell her go to mattapan square if you want that
no she says I'm not going there

she wanted diversity but only if they have money

I will say this that if you move into a state then before you do do some research and find about the place don't moan about it after or moan about the politcis there

Hello to the group, because of the FSP I am making my plans to move to NH. I'm not a card carry Libertarian but my similar views of non-viloence, less govenment, more personal freedoms and my belief to be involved in protecting citizens rights gaureentied buy both the NH and US Constitutions will cause me to be counted as one. Looks like there are those in these forums that may be ignorant of the FSP and will emphasize the 1%ers to judge all FSP members by. Thus it appears that I may become demonized but still I will be in NH soon, voting and fighting to uphold those guarantee. You may disagree but I believe that USA is here today because of approximately 1/3 of the population in 1776. Today I am proud to be the small percent aligned with the FSP.

Welcome to the forum, studebaker. I'm not a card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party either, but, like you, I believe in less government and more individual freedom. See you in NH!

now why would you move from massachusetts, the centre of liberal lunatic politics some would say to new hampshire which is different in their attitude to massachusetts and then complain about liberterians?

just doesn't make sense
First off, I'd like to say that I disagree with the first statement. New Hampshire is much more conservative than the states around them. Though, I agree that area seems to be more grey than it was 20 years ago.

Second, with regard to your question....very easy to understand. New Hampshire has NO INCOME OR SALES TAX...so moving there is a no brainer to the people of Tax-achusetts. The problem lies in those people being used to certain "perks," if you will, of living in Mass, and want those same things in New Hampshire without having to pay for it. Americans in general, IMO, are plagued with ignorance. We, as a general rule, all make uneducated decisions from time to time. Some are more severe as to their outcome as others...but this breeds discontent. One example is marriage. You may not agree with me, but many people get married without ever really KNOWING their partner. I'm not sure if it's because it's so easy to get a divorce, or we're too cowardly to live alone...but the fact remains that in a relationship, there is a period where we act in a way to attract a partner, yet this is not who we are. We lie to ourselves, and to them and expect a positive outcome. Obviously this is not true for everyone, but the vast majority. If you disagree, then look at the divorce rate. Look at the number of single parent households, etc.

This is why our government is so !%@^&$ed up. People go to the polls without any real education as to the candidate they plan to vote for. They vote on the person's propaganda campaign...not on their record. If you really want to vote for the person that best represents your views...then DIG DEEP and compare their publicly accessable voting record. Have they swayed with their votes according to "popular" demands, or have they had the testicular fortitude to stick to thier beliefs? That will probably weed out nearly every candidate running, if not everyone, but educating yourself is your "responsibility" (the ball and chain attatched to your "right" to vote).

I couldnt agree more with you there. If you look at the persons beliefs, and take it for what it is worth since we all know people change their minds when it is convenient for them, instead of what their party you might change your mind. You will also realize that not 1 candidate is 100% right for you so in the end you will end up having to choose the person that is closest to your beleifs.

sadly there are too many who vote for a person because they listen to stars like oprah etc or they believe everything in the likes of the new york times., even worse they'll read the fashion magazine and believe that

if it ain't broken then don't change it i.e. NH is great very different to massachusetts so why move there and then state you want to change it I mean there's even a few who have moved form mass then now want a income tax, or vote for the party which actually messed massachusetts right up beggars belief them two

Default the Libertarian movement died a slow death 20 years ago

It seems Libetarianisim died here 20 years ago Libertarian choices do not exist on the ballots. Too bad because the platform was a good fit for most people's N.H. 'down home' values. Free stater's can say what they wish about this being their project state, but there's 'NO LEGS' under the movement here. I'm sure they just don't want to admit universal defeat. By its nature our state legislature is very frugal anyway.

I'm pretty sure they've fallen far short of their membership goals. They originally wanted to get 20K to move, but the last I knew, they were trying to get 1,000 to make a pledge to be the first to make the move.

I'm not trying to trash the FSP. I'd love to see a state with a strong libertarian movement. But I just don't think they're seeing the numbers they wanted, and I doubt that they will. Some libertarians probably would like to make the move but can't (for work, family, whatever) ... others probably just don't like the cold weather ... others are just plain stubborn. Getting 20,000 independent-minded libertarians to act as a movement would be harder than herding cats, I would think.

Just an FYI:

They currently have 8075 participants with 504 already moved into NH.
