We are looking at 2 different houses here. One is in northern river vale and one is more central, closer to Westwood. Is one area more desirable than the other? We are a Jewish family with young children. Is one of these locations better for us than the other?

I think all of River Vale is nice, some see the Northern part superior, due to the higher end homes and golf courses.

I grew up there. Northern part of town is more well-off and jewish.

Really?!? It's River Vale. The whole town is nice. I'd gladly live in any part of the town, if I could afford it. You really don't need to be picky with a town like this.

Yeah really, River Vale as itself is a very small town and I can't think of what parts might be "more desirable" than others. If you want a quiet, safe, decently accessible suburban north Jersey town, look no further.
