Started house hunting about 1 month ago in Middletown and this week might start also searching in Hazlet. Any difference between Middletown and Hazlet? How's the schools in hazlet? Any areas in hazlet better than others, I prefer living closer to 35 more so than 36...

hazlet is more blue collar than some parts of middletown, the schools are on the lower end of the scale, as are most public schools in the area, some of middletowns schools are a bit better.
For the most part middletown has a better rep than hazlet.
Both towns are large and have better and worse parts in them, if homes in hazlet are in your price range, it isn't a terrible place to live, just do your homework and looks for the flaws whatever town you choose

You make it sound terrible. Hazlet is nice. Its very conveniently close to everything. The schools are fine, but taxes are high.

Look at houses in both areas. We did and just liked Hazlet much better.
