Hey Guys,

My wife is 2 months pregnant, and I want to surprise her by taking her on a "babymoon". I want to keep it somewhat affordable (with the baby coming and all), and we'd be looking to just relax and hang out on the beach all day. Does anyone have any suggestions of what areas of Florida I should research?

I've only been to Orlando, so I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the Sunshine State.

Thanks!

Did you mean to post this in the Florida forum?

if relaxing on the beach is what you are looking for, why go all the way to FL? you can visit Maryland, Virginia or the Carolinas - all with great beaches, good weather (not as hot as FL in summer) and possibly cheaper to visit.

That's very true...any suggestions in particular? (I don't get to travel much, so again, I'm clueless)

The Keys and Key West are the best parts of Florida IMO. Very laid back and scenic compared to rest of Florida.

After spending a week in Siesta Key, I am convinced the Gulf coast offers the best beaches in FL.

Agree. Sarasota is nice, so is Naples. You also have Captiva and Sanibel Island.

Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Sanibel/Captiva Island, Marco Island in FL
Kiawah Island, SC (!!) -esp if it's May/June
I think there's a nice island in GA too, but I don't know the name

Also would consider Bermuda in spring/summer (check into healthcare though just in case)

My husband grew up in Siesta Key/Sarasota so we go there a ton!! You can't beat the beaches - love the little downtown area..We go a few times a year!
