Can someone who has more information or persistence access greater information about the ongoing status regarding the submarine, the USS Ling, docked in Hackensack NJ? There was a sign on it in early July, stating 'open for tours,' but one look around isn't promising (on a weekend, no less) and while there seems signs of life (and an open phone recording accepting messages), there was no activity on a recent visit.

It was a favorite of mine when I was in state and now outside, it's a place I still desire to visit. Open? Closed? Will it go in the way of the Binghampton of Edgewater? The souvenir shop is simply nasty and has a big padlock on the door. A second trailer looks more promising, but again, no real signs of life.

Thanks!

This article should answer some of your questions, although it does not reveal when the museum will re-open:

Based on the read, it sounds like the property will be/was purchased for development. Mebbe the developer will move forward with rehab and continuing the museum. I appreciate the update.
